Hey everyone, just wanted to share a quick tip after a scare yesterday. Was clearing leaves with my Makita blower, forgot my earplugs, and now my ears are ringing. My grandpa lost hearing from years of loud tools, so lesson learned. Always wear PPE, even for quick jobs! Anyone else have a close call?

Totally agree, Mike! I always keep extra foamies in my truck. That said, I swear by my 3M Peltor muffs with bluetooth – I can listen to tunes while mowing. But yeah, loud is loud. Your grandpa was right. I had a buddy who used a chainsaw for 30 minutes without plugs and now has tinnitus. Don't be that guy.

Good reminder, Mike. I see homeowners all the time running gas trimmers with no protection. I'm required to wear muffs on job sites, but even at home I never skip it. I'd add safety glasses too – caught a flying rock to the face once. For ear pro, I'm a fan of the ISOtunes earbuds; they block noise but let you hear conversations. Stay safe y'all.

Thanks guys! Pete, I might look into those bluetooth muffs. Hank, I actually got a face shield after a branch whipped back at me. Pair it with plugs and I feel invincible. Any brand recs for safety glasses that don't fog up?

I use DeWalt DPG82-11C; they're anti-fog and comfy. Not too cheap, but worth it. Also, if you wear prescription glasses, try OTG (over the glasses) models. Stay safe and keep the tips coming!
