Hey folks, RenovationRick167 here. Just wanted to share a quick safety tip I see overlooked all the time: hearing protection when using gas-powered equipment. I inspect worksites, and tinnitus is no joke. Even a basic pair of earmuffs can save your hearing long-term. What's everyone else using for PPE?

Good call Rick! I'm more of a woodshop guy, but I do my own yard work. I always wear safety glasses—had a rock kick back from the mower once and it scared me straight. Also, sturdy boots! Almost dropped a log on my foot last fall lol. Anyone have recommendations for gloves that still let you feel the controls?

Precision matters here too. I use ANSI-rated glasses with side shields and noise-canceling earmuffs with a clear dB reduction rating. For gloves, I prefer thin leather palms—grip without bulk. And don't forget a dust mask if you're blowing debris or using chemicals. Overkill? Maybe, but my hearing and lungs are calibrated tools.

Solid points, both of you. Hank, those specs are on point—ANSI Z87.1 is the standard for eye protection. Tim, for gloves, look for ones with reinforced palms but breathable backs. And a pro tip: always check your equipment's manual for PPE recommendations. Stay safe out there!
