Just read this article about the tuna can test. Sounds interesting but I'm skeptical. Anyone actually do this or is it just another internet myth?

Honestly, the tuna can test is legit for checking sprinkler coverage. I use it on job sites all the time. Set out a few cans, run the system 15 mins, then measure the water depth. You'll spot dry spots fast. Might save your lawn from over or under watering.

Haha I just use a measuring cup but same idea. Had a buddy kill his lawn last spring by watering too much, fungus got him. This test coulda saved him. Good share OP.

Old trick, but it works. I'd add: do it at peak sun hours and check a few spots. Also, if cans show uneven water, might need to adjust your heads. Saved me a ton of water bills.

Thanks for the tip! My lawn is patchy as heck, maybe this is why. Gonna try it this weekend. Do you use empty tuna cans or any can work?
