So Walmart is selling lawn mowers for $36 to kick off spring. That's crazy cheap. But you know what they say, if it sounds too good to be true... Anyway, here's the article: [link]. What do you all think? Any catch?

I've seen those cheap mowers before. Usually they're push reel mowers or tiny electric ones. For $36, you're not getting a gas self-propelled, that's for sure. If you have a small yard, it might be fine. But if you got a big lawn, you'll be pushing that thing forever. Check the specs before you buy.

@LawnGuru2024 Yeah, I clicked the link. It's a 14-inch electric mower, not even a reel. Probably works for a tiny patch of grass. But for most of us, you'll want at least a 20-inch gas or cordless. Spend a bit more and save yourself the hassle. I've replaced too many of those cheap ones for clients.

I actually bought a cheap mower from Walmart last year just for trimming around the edges. It lasted one season and died. But for $36, you can't complain. If you're on a budget and have a postage-stamp yard, go for it. Just don't expect it to last. Also, check if it comes with a bagger or mulcher. My $36 one didn't.

I'm with Carl on this. $36 is a red flag. You'd be better off checking Craigslist for a used Honda or Toro. I've seen solid used mowers for $100-150 that'll last years. That Walmart deal is a throwaway. But hey, if you only need it once, maybe it's worth it. Just my two cents.
