Hey guys, just a heads up. I was measuring some stock for a cabinet build and my digital caliper started acting up. Turned out the battery was almost dead and it was giving false readings. Could've ruined the whole project if I hadn't noticed. Check your batteries, people!

Good tip Pete! I almost had the same issue with my micrometer. Now I always keep a spare CR2032 in my toolbox. Also, does anyone else use those rechargeable lithium ones? They seem to last longer.

Yeah, I switched to rechargeables too. But another thing - if you're using a tape measure or a square, make sure they haven't been dropped. I had a framing square that was slightly bent and threw off all my cuts. Check your tools regularly!

Good points. And always zero your calipers before use! I see a lot of newbies forget that step.
