Hey all, just a friendly reminder to always wear safety glasses when using measuring tools like tape measures. I nearly lost an eye today when a tape snapped back and the hook flew off. PPE saves eyes! Any of you have close calls?

Word, Rick. I've seen too many guys skip glasses 'cause they're 'just measuring.' I had a buddy get a metal sliver in his cornea from a cheap caliper. Always wear ANSI-rated glasses, not just sunglasses. Stay safe.

True, but good PPE can be pricey. I get by with $5 hardware store glasses. They fog up tho. Any tips for anti-fog on a budget? I hate wiping them every 5 mins.

Yeah, cheap glasses suck. I use dish soap – rub a drop on both sides, rinse, let dry. Works for a few hours. Also, try a respirator if you're cutting or sanding near the measuring. Dust in eyes is no joke.

Good tip, Paul! Felix, if you can spare $20, get anti-fog wipes from Amazon – last a while. And Dan's right about ANSI rating. I upgraded after my close call. Cheers, guys!
