Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a laser distance measurer. I've narrowed it down to the DeWalt DW089K or the Makita SKR1000. I do a lot of woodworking and some light construction. Any advice? I've heard Makita is more accurate but DeWalt has better durability.

Dewalt all the way! I've been using their tools for years and they never let me down. The DW089K is built like a tank. Plus, their customer service is top notch if somthing goes wrong. Makita is good too, but Dewalt just feels more solid.

I've got the Makita SKR1000 and it's been awesome! Super accurate and the layout is intuitive. I used it on a framing job last month and it was spot on. Battery life is great too. But hey, you can't go wrong with either, both are top brands.

I know you didn't ask, but have you looked at the Bosch GLM50C? It's cheaper than both and does the job just as well. I got it on sale for $80 and it's been perfect for my projects. Don't get caught up in brand hype, save some cash!

Thanks for the input guys! Sarah, I get what you're saying about durability. Felix, that's good to hear about the Makita. And Bob, I'll check out the Bosch. I'm leaning towards the Makita for the accuracy, but I'll sleep on it.
