Just a reminder guys, I was using my tape measure today and the hook snagged on a piece of wood, flew back and almost hit my eye. Always wear safety glasses! Even when you're just measuring.

Great tip Chris! I had a similar thing happen with a ruler that snapped. Now I always have my glasses on. Better safe than sorry.

Yeah, I've seen guys lose eyes from stuff like that. I wear safety glasses all day on the job. Not worth the risk. Also, gloves help with the tape measure snap cuts.

I get the safety thing but I hate spending money on good glasses. They always fog up or scratch. Any cheap ones that actually work?

I use these no-fog ones from Amazon, about $10. They've lasted me a year. Just clean them with dish soap and water. Definitely worth it.
