Hey guys, my DeWalt circular saw suddenly started making a grinding noise and the blade won't spin freely by hand. It was working fine yesterday. Battery is fully charged. Any ideas what's wrong? I'm afraid to use it.

Sounds like a stuck arbor or debris in the housing. First, remove the battery and check the blade for any obstructions. Also inspect the arbor washer and make sure the blade isn't bent. Could be a bad bearing too. Let us know what you find.

Yeah, what Dan said! I had a similar issue with my Makita last month. Turned out a tiny piece of wood got wedged between the blade and the guard. Clean it out and give it a try. If it's still stuck, you might need to take the blade off and check the spindle.

Thanks guys! I checked and there was a nail stuck in the blade guard. Removed it and now it spins fine. Appreciate the quick help!
