Hey guys, was at the hardware store today and saw this laser level on clearance for $50. Normally goes for like $150. Brand is 'TruLine' - not top tier but seems decent. I'm just starting out as an apprentice and could use one for hanging cabinets next week. Should I grab it or is it gonna be junk? Link: www.hardwaredeals.com/trueline-laser

TruLine? Hmm. I'm precision obsessed as you know, Carl. Check the specs - what's the accuracy rating? At 50 bucks I'm skeptical. My Bosch shoots ±1/8" at 30ft and I paid $300. If it's worse than ±1/4", you'll regret it when those cabinets look crooked. Also battery type? If it's some proprietary thing, skip it.

lol Sarah always with the specs! Carl, I'm an apprentice too and bought a cheapo level last year. It worked ok for shelves but died after 6 months. For $50 though... might be worth the risk? Could always return it if it sucks. What store? Maybe I'll check mine.

Garage gearhead here - I've tinkered with TruLine stuff. Their lasers are hit or miss. For $50, if it has self-leveling and a decent mount, could be a steal for light DIY. But if you're using it daily on job sites, might not hold up. Check the warranty! Some budget brands offer 1 year, which isn't bad.

Thanks all! Sarah, specs say ±3/16" at 30ft and uses AA batteries. Bob, it does self-level and came with a wall mount. Think I'm gonna grab it - worst case I use it for a few projects and upgrade later. Dave, it's at HomePro, clearance aisle. Appreciate the help!
