Hey all, I've got a cordless drill that's about 2 years old. It's been fine, but now it keeps cutting out when I'm drilling. The battery is fully charged, but after a few seconds it just stops, then if I give it a minute it works again. Any idea what's wrong?

Sounds like a thermal overload. Check if the vents are clogged with sawdust or something. Also, if you're pushing too hard, the motor heats up and the thermal breaker trips. Let it cool down and see if it works longer. Clean the vents and try again.

Could also be a worn carbon brush. If it's brushed motor, they wear out and cause intermittent power loss. Also, inspect the battery contacts - if they're dirty or loose, that can cause cutouts. But first, try a different battery if you have one, to rule that out.

I'd also check the wiring inside the handle. Sometimes a wire gets chafed or a connection breaks. I had a drill that did this and turned out to be a loose solder joint. If you're comfortable opening it up, inspect the wires and connectors. Also, clean the switch with contact cleaner, that can cause cutouts too.
