Hey guys, just a quick heads up. I was using my Bosch laser distance measurer the other day, and I got a bit too close to the beam while aligning it. Now I got these weird floaters in my vision for a couple hours. Always wear your safety glasses, even for 'low power' lasers. Lesson learned.

Good point Sam! I always slap on some ANSI Z87.1 rated glasses when I break out the laser level. Also, make sure you're not pointing it at reflective surfaces like mirrors or windows. That beam can bounce right back at ya.

Yeah, I'm anal about that stuff. I actually use those yellow UV-blocking safety glasses that make everything look high contrast. It helps with the laser visibility too. But seriously, don't trust the Class 2 rating, it's still not safe to stare into.

Totally. I'm gonna pick up a pair of those yellow ones Gary68, thanks for the tip. Also, I'm thinking about getting a laser target card to reduce reflections. Any experience with those?

I use one with my Leica. They work great outdoors in bright sun. Cheap too, like $10 on Amazon. Just make sure you get one that's the right color for your laser (red vs green).
