Toyota's heart rate detector... bring it to the workshop?

This is wild! I saw that article too. Heart rate detection in cars, but man, I'm thinking about how that tech could be used in the workshop. Imagine a bandsaw that shuts off if it senses your pulse is erratic or you're about to lose focus? That'd be a game changer for safety.

Interesting idea, Sam, but I'm not sure I want my tools monitoring my vitals. Seems like a slippery slope. I'd rather just keep my hands clear and use a push stick. Still, the patent shows how far measurement tech has come. Next thing you know, they'll have lasers that measure your stress level.

LOL @Carl, right? But actually, I could see it for like, detecting if someone's having a heart attack on the job site. My uncle had one last year framing a house – scared us all. If a tool could call for help, that might be worth the creepy factor.

I'm all about measuring tools, but this sounds like something from a sci-fi movie. I'll stick with my tape measure and calipers, thanks. Though I gotta admit, the patent list itself is interesting – shows how much innovation is coming out of Texas.
