Tuna Can Test for Lawn? Seriously?

Just read this article about using a tuna can to measure watering for your lawn. Sounds like a hack to me. Anyone tried it? Link: [article]

I've seen something similar. Basically you put an empty tuna can in the sprinkler zone and time how long it takes to fill it. That gives you an idea of how much water you're delivering. Not a bad low-tech trick for us DIYers.

I'll stick to my rain gauge and soil moisture meter. The tuna can method is way too imprecise for me. I need accurate measurements, not a fish can.

Hey, if it works for them, cool. I might try it as a rough guide. Better than nothing, and it's a good excuse to eat tuna for dinner. #multitasking
