Hey all, just wanted to share a quick safety tip after a close call today. I was using some channel locks to twist a stubborn bolt, and they slipped. My hand hit a sharp edge. Always wear cut-resistant gloves with pliers, folks! Anyone else have a PPE must-do?

Great point! I learned that the hard way too. I also recommend safety glasses – pliers can snap or send metal shards flying. I’ve got a scar from a piece of wire that shot up. Gloves and glasses every time.

100%. And don’t forget about good grip. Sometimes gloves can make it harder to hold small things, so I use rubber-dipped ones. Also, check your pliers for cracks or worn-out jaws. Better safe than sorry.

Totally agree on the condition check. I’ve got a pair of old linesmans that I should probably retire. Any brand recommendations for gloves that give good dexterity?

I like the Mechanix Wear M-Pact – great protection and you can still feel things. Or for lighter work, the Maxiflex Ultimate. They’re like a second skin.
