Hey folks, I'm looking at getting a new set of linesman pliers. I've been using my old no-name ones forever and they're finally giving out. I'm torn between the DeWalt and Makita linesman pliers. Anyone have experience with either? I do a mix of electrical work and DIY projects around the house, nothing too heavy duty.

I've used both on job sites. Makita pliers are solid, good grip and they hold up well. DeWalt ones feel a bit clunky to me, but some guys swear by them. If you can, go to a store and hold them. For linesman, I'd lean Makita, but both are ok.

I'm just an apprentice, but I got a set of DeWalt pliers from my boss. They're not bad for the price, but the cutting edge dulled kinda quick on some wire. My coworker has Makitas and he's had them for a year without issue. Maybe spend the extra few bucks on Makita?

Thanks for the input, guys. I think I'll go with the Makita ones, especially if the cutting edge lasts longer. I'll check them out at the store this weekend.
