Harley tool kits – a dying breed? Thoughts?

Saw this article about Harley-Davidson no longer including tool kits with new bikes. I mean, for the price they charge, you'd think they'd throw in a few wrenches. But I guess it's all about cutting costs. Anyone else think this is a bad move?

Honestly, I've got a 2019 Fat Boy and it came with a basic kit. Enough to tighten bolts and adjust the clutch. But I heard the new ones don't. It's a shame. Harley's all about tradition, but they're nickel-and-diming us now. I'd rather have the tool kit than some fancy infotainment screen.

Not a Harley guy myself (I stick to Japanese bikes), but I get why people are upset. Even my old Honda came with a tool roll. It's just part of the experience. But honestly, half the stuff in those kits is junk anyway. You're better off buying your own quality tools. That's what I did.

I can see both sides. For a casual rider, the factory kit might be enough for a roadside emergency. But for someone like me who tinkers, those tools are garbage. Soft steel, poor fit. I'd rather they not include it and lower the price. But knowing Harley, they'll keep the price the same and make us buy a kit separately. Typical.

Yeah, I guess if you're a real DIYer you'll have your own setup. But for the average buyer, it's a nice gesture to have something there. I'm still on the fence. Anyone actually use their factory kit on the road?
