Hey guys, my 18V drill started stalling mid-screw today. It's not the battery—that's fully charged. It just stops spinning for a sec, then starts again. Anyone else run into this? I'm just a weekend warrior so I don't wanna trash it.

Sounds like you might be overheating it. Make sure you're not jamming it too hard. Also check the brushes if it's a brushed motor. whats the brand? Some brands have better thermal protection than others. My Dewalt never stalls like that.

If it's stalling intermittently, could be a bad connection inside. Check the trigger switch and the wiring to the motor. Sometimes carbon dust builds up. Or if it's brushless, maybe the control board is acting up. DM me the model # if you want. I've fixed a few of these on the job.

Thanks guys. It's a Ryobi brushless. I'll pop it open and look for dust. Also gonna try Makita's tip on the trigger. I'll update if I find anything. Appreciate the help!
