So I just read that Harley-Davidson might not be including the standard tool kit with new bikes anymore?? I remember my old Sportster had a nice little kit under the seat. Is this true? What do they give you now, just a tire pressure gauge and a pat on the back? Seems like they're nickel and diming us, but I'm curious what you all think.

I heard about that. My buddy picked up a new Street Glide last year and said the 'tool kit' was basically just a multi-tool and a fuse puller. I mean, for the price of those bikes, you'd think they'd throw in a decent set of wrenches. But honestly, most guys I know swap out the factory stuff for a proper kit anyway. It's all about weight savings and reliability nowadays.

Times change, fellas. I remember when my grandpa bought his Panhead, the toolkit was almost as big as the saddlebag. But now, bikes are more reliable, and most guys are trailering them to the dealership for service. I still carry a leatherman and a few essentials, but I ain't wrenching on the side of the road like I used to. Still, it'd be nice if they gave you something a little more useful.

I get that, but the article said they now just give you a small pouch with a few tools. I guess it's still something, but it feels like they're cutting corners. I'll still buy one, but I'll be upgrading that toolkit before I even leave the lot. Anyone got a good recommendation for a compact kit or a good roll-up pouch?
