Hey guys, quick question. I was using my new linesman pliers to twist wires and I got a nice cut on my finger. Should I be wearing gloves when using pliers? I usually don't, but maybe I should. What do you all do?

I always wear at least some cut-resistant gloves when I'm doing heavy twisting or pulling. Especially with those sharp wire ends. You can get a good pair that doesn't sacrifice dexterity. Trust me, a cut on your hand is a pain, and infections are no joke.

I've been using pliers for 30 years and never wore gloves. Just be careful and keep your fingers out of the way. But maybe I'm just old school. Those new cut-resistant gloves are pretty nice though, I've got a pair for when I'm handling sheet metal.

I'm with Mike on this one. I have a pair of Mechanix gloves that I use for almost everything. They've saved my knuckles more times than I can count. Plus, they give you a better grip on the pliers. And yeah, you can still feel what you're doing.

Thanks for the advice, guys. I'll look into getting a pair. I guess I was being a bit careless. Better safe than sorry, right?
