Just saw this deal for the Victorinox Swiss Tool Spirit MX at $121 with free shipping. For those who don't know, it's a 25-function multitool, pretty premium stuff. I've been eyeing it for a while, but is it really worth that price? What do you guys think? I mostly do electrical work and need something reliable for cutting wire, stripping, and general abuse.

I've had the Spirit for years now, and it's the best multitool I've ever owned. I've dropped it, abused it, used it in the rain, and it still works like new. The locking mechanism is solid and the tools are super sharp. At $121, that's a steal. I'd say grab it if you can. Victorinox quality is unmatched, IMO.

I'm a bit of a precision freak, so I'm picky about my tools. The Spirit MX is nice, but the blade steel isn't the best for heavy woodworking. It's more of an EDC/light duty tool. For electrical, it's probably fine, but if you're doing serious cutting, you might want something with a replaceable blade. That said, the pliers are top-notch and the file is surprisingly good. If you're a collector or want a quality all-rounder, it's worth it.

Steve, that's good to hear about durability. Will, I get what you're saying about blade steel, but I've got dedicated cutters for heavy stuff. I mainly need the pliers, wire strippers, and maybe the awl for poking holes. So you guys think $121 is a fair price? It's usually around 150-160, right?

Yeah, you're right Sam, that's a good deal. Normally they're closer to $150. At $121, it's basically a no-brainer if you're in the market. My only advice is to get a nice sheath for it because the stock one is a bit flimsy. But the tool itself? solid investment.
