Hey everyone, I'm finally tackling my deck this weekend. It's about 200 sq ft, pine, hasn't been cleaned in years. Should I rent a gas pressure washer or buy an electric one? I'm on a budget but don't want to mess it up. Any recommendations?

For a deck that size, I'd go with a gas unit. Electric is fine for small jobs but lacks the oomph for stubborn grime. Look at a Simpson with a Honda engine, around 3000 PSI. But be careful with the pressure, don't get too close or you'll gouge the wood.

Listen to Steve. Gas is the way to go for a neglected deck. But also get a surface cleaner attachment, it'll save your back and give even results. I've used a BE Pressure with a Subaru engine for years, solid machine.

I'd say electric is fine if you're not in a hurry. I use a Sun Joe electric and it does the job for my deck. Just got to go slow and maybe use a deck cleaner solution. Saves the hassle of gas maintenance.
