Hey folks, I'm in the market for a new pressure washer and I'm torn between the DeWalt 3400 PSI and the Makita 3300 PSI. I do mostly driveway and siding cleaning at home, and some fence staining prep. I've heard good things about both. Anyone have experience with either? I'm leaning DeWalt because I'm already in the platform for batteries, but I'm not sure if that matters for a corded unit.

Tim, I've used both on jobsites. DeWalt's build is solid, but Makita's pump is smoother and less finicky with water supply. For driveways, the 3400 vs 3300 PSI won't make a huge difference. If you're going corded, battery platform is irrelevant. I'd say go with whichever feels better in hand – try them at a store if you can. Also, check warranty and parts availability. Makita has a longer warranty on the pump I think.

Makita all the way!! I've had a Makita for 5 years, used it on construction sites almost daily, and it's never skipped a beat. The DeWalt might have a bit more PSI, but the Makita's motor is just more reliable. Also, the axial pump on Makita is easier to service. I've seen too many Dewalts die after a season. Just my two cents.

Thanks Sarah and Larry! Appreciate the input. I also noticed the Makita comes with a 50ft hose, whereas DeWalt only has a 35ft. That's a big deal for me because of my layout. And the warranty difference you mentioned, Sarah – that might tip it. I'm leaning Makita now, but I'll check if any local stores have them on display. Any tips on attachments or accessories to get with it?

Definitely get a surface cleaner attachment – it'll save you hours on driveways. Also, a foam cannon if you do car washing. And make sure you have a proper extension cord rated for outdoor use. I'd recommend getting a turbo nozzle too for stubborn stains. Makita makes a good one, but aftermarket works fine. Good luck!
