Hey guys, I'm a pro contractor and need a new pressure washer for cleaning heavy machinery and concrete. I'm torn between the DeWalt 4200 PSI and the Makita 4000 PSI. Both look good on paper. Anyone got real-world experience? Leaning towards DeWalt but Makita has that nice pump. Help a brother out!

I've used both extensively on restoration jobs. The Makita is more reliable in the long run, especially the pump. DeWalt's motors are solid but I've seen their pumps fail after a season of heavy use. Makita's axial cam pump is built like a tank. Also Makita has better detergent injection if you're doing chemical cleaning. My vote is Makita.

Gotta disagree with Rick here. I've run DeWalt for years and never had a pump issue. But I also flush the system after every use. The DeWalt has higher PSI and GPM which matters for concrete. Makita's are quieter and lighter though. If you're on job sites all day, the Makita is easier to move around. For raw power, Dell is king.

I'm just a DIYer but I researched this a ton before buying. Ended up with the Makita because it had better reviews for longetivity. Also Makita has a 3 year warranty vs DeWalt's 1 year. That says something. Plus the Makita comes with better nozzles and a hose. The DeWalt's hose is too short for my driveway.

Thanks folks! Sounds like Makita wins on reliability but DeWalt has the edge on raw specs. Think I'll go with the Makita for the pump and warranty. My crew is hard on tools. Appreciate the input!
