Hey all, I'm looking to buy a new pressure washer for my home renovation projects. Can't decide between the DeWalt 4000 PSI and the Makita 4200 PSI models. Anybody have experience with both? Looking for something durable and easy to maintain.

I've used both on job sites. DeWalt's pump is easier to service if something goes wrong, but Makita's engine runs smoother. DeWalt tends to have more plastic parts, while Makita uses more metal. For home use, either is fine, but if you're really gonna push it, I'd go Makita.

I went with the DeWalt because I got it on sale for $100 less than the Makita. Honestly, for a weekend warrior, it's plenty powerful. Just make sure you get a good surface cleaner attachment – makes driveway work way easier.

Don't overlook the warranty. DeWalt's 3 year is good but Makita offers a 5 year on their higher end models. I've had my Makita for 4 years, zero issues. Also, check replacement part availability in your area – Makita parts are sometimes harder to find.
