DeWalt vs Makita Pressure Washers - Which would you pick for driveway cleaning?

Hey folks, looking to upgrade my pressure washer setup. Currently using an old generic brand that's on its last legs. I'm torn between DeWalt's 3400 PSI gas model and Makita's 3200 PSI one. Both seem solid for cleaning driveways and patio work. Anyone have hands-on experience with either? My main concern is durability - I use mine almost weekly for side jobs.

Paul! I've used both professionally. The DeWalt has more raw power, but Makita's pump design seems to hold up better long-term. For driveway cleaning, either will work fine - you don't need 3400 PSI for concrete. Makita's hose and wand feel more premium IMO. Have you checked the warranty details? Makita usually offers better commercial coverage.

Retired carpenter here - used pressure washers for 40+ years. Forget the brand wars. Look at the pump manufacturer. Both probably use CAT or AR pumps. Check the engine too - Honda engines last forever. My 2 cents: whichever has easier local parts availability. Nothing worse than waiting weeks for a $15 seal!

I've got the DeWalt 3400. Beast of a machine! Cleans my 200ft driveway in under an hour. The quick-connect nozzles are game-changer. Only complaint - it's LOUD. Makita might be quieter? Also, DeWalt's customer service was great when I needed a new unloader valve last year.

Thanks all! Sarah - good point about overkill PSI. Dave - never thought to check pump manufacturer, smart! Rick - noise is a factor since I work in residential areas. Leaning toward Makita now for the warranty and potentially quieter operation. Anyone know if the Makita has Honda engine options?
