Hey guys, spotted a Karcher K5 Premium Electric Power Pressue Washer on CL for $200. The guy says it's a year old, used only a few times to wash his deck and driveway. Looks clean in the pics. Is that a good price? I was about to buy a new one for $400+. Should I grab it?

I love my Karcher K5, it's a solid machine. $200 is a steal if it's in good shape. Just check the water seals and make sure the wand isn't leaking. Ask him to show it running before you buy. Also see if the box includes the extra nozzles and foam cannon. If everything works, I'd say go for it!

Karchers are okay, but I prefer my Makita over any Karcher. But for $200, that's a good deal if you need it. Check the pump: if it's an axial cam pump they can be a pain to repair. Might be worth it tho for light DIY. Just don't expect it to outlast a belt drive unit.

I'd ask how long it sat with water in it. That can ruin the seals. Ask him to start it and run it for a few min. Listen for any weard noises. Also test the high pressure setting on the spray gun to see it cuts off firmly. If it passes, $200 is a good price. Even if you need a new burner coil or something down the line, it's still cheaper than new.

Thanks for the tips! I'm gonna check it out tomorrow. Will update if I get it. Heading over with a bucket and some gloves too lol. Wish me luck!
