So I was browsing at the local big box store and spotted a Ryobi 2300 psi electric pressure washer on clearance for $99. Normally $179. I've been thinking about getting one for cleaning the driveway and patio. Is this a good deal, or should I spend more on a gas one? Anyone have experience with this model?

Hey Bob, that's a steal! I've used that exact Ryobi for small jobs around the house. It's not as powerful as a gas one, but for routine stuff like siding, decks, and cars, it's plenty. And no gas engine to mess with, just plug and go. Just don't expect it to blast away oil stains that have been sitting for years. If you're just a weekend warrior, go for it. That price is sweet.

I'll chime in - I've had both. For light duty, electric is fine and way easier to maintain. But if you've got a big driveway or plan to use it a lot, gas is the way to go. At that price, you could buy the electric and still have cash for a decent gas one later if you find you need more power. That $99 is a no-brainer. Even if it dies in a few years, you got your money's worth.

Good deal, but check the flow rate too. Electric ones often have lower GPM (gallons per minute) which can make rinsing slower. For $99 though, you can't really lose. I'd say pull the trigger and if you don't like it, flip it on Craigslist for the same price. Also, heads up - often the included wand and hose are meh, but replacements are cheap. Just saying.
