So I was at Home Depot picking up some lumber and spotted a Ridgid 3100 PSI pressure washer on clearance for $250 (orig. $399). It's one of those with the brushless motor and 4 nozzles. I've been looking for one for a while but wasn't planning to drop that much. Is this a good deal or should I pass? I mainly need it for cleaning my driveway, patio, and maybe the car.

Rick, that's a solid score! Ridgid makes decent machines, and $250 for 3100 PSI is a steal. I've had mine for 3 years, still runs like a champ. Just make sure to check the reviews for that specific model - some have had issues with the hose connection. But honestly, at that price, even if it lasts 5 years, you're getting your money's worth. I'd grab it before someone else does.

Agree with Mike, that's a good deal. I've seen that model and it's solid. One thing: if you plan to use it for your car, be careful with the PSI - 3100 is a lot. You'll want to use a wider nozzle and keep distance or you'll strip the paint. Also, check if it includes a turbo nozzle - those are handy for concrete. If not, you might want to pick one up separately. Overall, I'd say yes, worth it.

Thanks guys, appreciate the input! I'll probably go back and snag it tomorrow. Pete, good point about the car - I'll be careful. It comes with a 25-ft hose, which is fine. What about maintenance? Any tips to keep it running long?

Maintenance is pretty simple: after each use, run clean water through it for a minute to clear out any dirt, then disconnect the hose and spray gun, let it drain, and store it indoors if possible. Also, don't leave gas in it over winter - drain or use stabilizer. And check the oil occasionally (if it's a 4-stroke). Other than that, just don't run the pump without water, and you'll be good.
