Hey guys, I pulled my electric pressure washer out of the shed after winter and it won't start. It's a Karcher K2. I plugged it in, pulled the trigger, and nothing. No hum, no nothing. I checked the outlet and it's fine. Anybody know what could be wrong?

Sounds like the thermal overload might have tripped. Try letting it sit for 30 mins and then resetting it. Also check the GFCI on the outlet or the cord. If that don't work, could be the switch or the motor.

Yeah, what Paul said. Also, make sure the trigger gun isn't stuck. Sometimes they lock up. Pull the trigger hard a few times. If it's still dead, you might have water in the motor. Did you store it inside?

Thanks for the replies. I tried the reset and the trigger, but no luck. I did store it in the shed, so it could have gotten damp. How do I check for water in the motor?

Unplug it first! Then take off the housing cover. Look for rust or moisture. If it's wet, you can try blowing it out with compressed air or let it dry in the sun for a couple days. If it's rusted, you might need a new motor, but that's almost the cost of a new washer.
