Hey everyone, I stored my gas pressure washer over the winter without running it dry. Now it won't start. I changed the oil, new spark plug, fresh gas, but it just cranks and sputters. Any ideas? It's a Simpson 3200 PSI.

Did you clean the carburetor? Old gas is notorious for gumming it up. Take it apart, spray some carb cleaner, and make sure the jets are clear. Also check the air filter - mine was clogged with dust and that caused similar issues. Let us know if that works.

Before you go tearing into the carb, try some starter fluid in the intake. If it fires then it's a fuel problem. Also, make sure the choke is working properly. I had a similar issue and it turns out the choke linkage was stuck. WD-40 on the linkage fixed it for me. Cheap fix if that's it!

I agree with checking the carb, but also check the spark arrestor on the muffler. If it's sooty, it can cause hard starting. Take it off and clean it with a wire brush. And make sure you have the throttle in the right position - some models need it at full choke to start.

Thanks for all the tips! I'll try the starter fluid first, then check the choke and spark arrestor. I just cleaned the carb, but maybe I missed something. I'll update you guys if I get it running. Appreciate the help!
