Hey everyone! Just wanted to share a quick tip after a scary moment today. I was pressure washing my driveway and got a bit of debris kicked up right into my face. Luckily I had my safety glasses on, but it got me thinking - how many of us actually wear proper PPE when using these things? I know I'm guilty of sometimes just throwing on sunglasses, but let's be real, they're not the same. What do you all use?

Good reminder, Sarah! I learned the hard way a few years ago - got a pebble in the eye, ended up in urgent care. Now I wear a full face shield, not just glasses. Especially when using a surface cleaner or on concrete. And ear protection too, those things are loud! Anyone else use a face shield or am I just being paranoid?

Nah, Dan, face shield is the way to go. I've been in the trades for 30+ years and seen too many eye injuries. I always wear a mesh shield or a clear one with goggles underneath if I'm doing heavy duty stuff. Also, don't forget steel-toe boots if you're moving heavy stuff around. Better safe than sorry, folks.

Absolutely! Also, think about what you're washing - if it's old paint or chemicals, you want a respirator, not just a dust mask. I once got a lungful of mildew cleaner residue and it was not fun. Now I keep a half-mask respirator in the garage. And for anyone just starting out, make sure you use the right nozzle - a 0-degree tip can cut skin. Seen that happen too.

Great advice, everyone! I'll definitely look into a face shield and maybe a respirator for the chemical stuff. Thanks for the warnings - better to be over-prepared than end up in the ER. Stay safe out there!
