So I was cleaning my driveway with my trusty Greenworks 2000 psi and a chunk of concrete flew up and hit my safety glasses. Cracked the lens but saved my eye. I always wear eye pro but today it really paid off. Just a reminder to all you weekend warriors out there: don't be a hero, wear your PPE. Also, anyone else had close calls?

Glad you're okay! I've got a collection of pressure washers, from a little electric Sun Joe to a big gas DeWalt. The bigger the PSI, the more you need PPE. I always wear a full face shield, not just glasses. Those tiny rocks can come at you like bullets. Also, steel-toe boots are a good idea if you're doing concrete. And ear protection if you're running a gas unit all day.

Yeah, I learned that the hard way last summer. Was washing my deck and got a splinter in my eye from a wood chip. Had to go to the ER to get it removed. Not fun. Now I wear goggles every time. Also, gloves are a must, especially if you're using any chemicals. My hands were raw after using a degreaser without gloves. Never again.

Thanks Felix, I'll look into a face shield. Hank, that sounds rough. I'm definitely gonna double up on PPE from now on. Also, good call on the gloves. I use those nitrile-coated ones for everything.

No problem. Another tip: make sure you're not pointing the wand at anyone, even if it's just water. That pressure can break skin. And never use a pressure washer on yourself or pets. I've seen some nasty injuries. Stay safe out there!
