Hey guys, just a heads up. Was pressure washing my driveway today and a chunk of concrete flew up and hit my shin. No serious damage, but it got me thinking about PPE. What do you all wear when using a pressure washer? I usually just put on some old sneakers, but now I'm thinking steel toes might be a good idea.

Glad you're ok Sam. I always wear safety glasses and sturdy boots. I've seen people lose an eye from a stray pebble. Also, I wear ear plugs cause those things are loud. Better safe than sorry.

Yeah, I second the ear plugs. And for the love of god, don't use a pressure washer barefoot! Saw a guy at a job site do that once. Also, watch out for the hose - it can whip around real fast.

Im new to pressure washers, what about gloves? Should I wear rubber gloves or something? I have this fear of the water cutting into my hand if I accidentally point the nozzle at it.

Gloves are a good question. I've seen guys use mechanic gloves, but I think they should be water resistant. I just use good grip boots and glasses. And definitely don't point it at your hand! I've heard stories about injections - water getting under your skin. That sounds nasty.
