ACT Energy buys SB Directional - What does it mean for rotary tools?

Just saw this: Calgary’s ACT Energy acquires Oklahoma directional drilling firm SB Directional. Seems like a big move in the oil patch. Any thoughts on how this might affect the rotary tool market? I'm always looking for deals on bits and grinders, and M&A usually means restructuring and maybe surplus sales.

Back in my day, we didn't need no fancy acquisitions to get good tools. But seriously, this is for directional drilling, not exactly the same as our little Dremels. Might mean more competition in industrial rotary tools though. I'd keep an eye on SB's product line for any fire sales.

I'm just an apprentice, but doesn't ACT Energy do like well servicing? Maybe they're after SB's tech for horizontal drilling. Could trickle down to better rotary tools for us hobbyists if they innovate. Or not. Just speculating.

Whoa, big news! I bet there'll be some overlapping departments. Might see some used SB directional drills hit the market cheap. Even if they're industrial, you can always adapt 'em with the right bits! I'm already checking eBay for SB gear.
