Just saw this: # Calgary’s ACT Energy acquires Oklahoma directional drilling firm SB Directional

ACT Energy Technologies Ltd., a Calgary-based energy service company, has announced a definitive agreement to acquire...

What do you guys think? Is this a sign of consolidation in the directional drilling space? Could be good for the industry if they streamline ops.

I dunno man, seems like big fish eating little fish. Hope they don't jack up prices for us small-time operators. But if they bring better tech, maybe it's a win.

I've used ACT's tools before, pretty solid. Might mean more options for us if they integrate SB's gear. Anyone know if SB made their own drill heads or just rented?

I read SB had some patented steering tech. Could be ACT is after that IP. Consolidation always happens when oil prices stabilize. More efficient, but less competition long term.
