Hey all, I'm torn between the DeWalt DWE56100 and the Makita RT0701C. I need precision for detail carving and occasional cutting. The Makita has variable speed, but the DeWalt seems more rugged. Anyone used both?

I've got the Makita. It's smooth and the speed control is great for different materials. Been using it for kitchen renos, no issues. DeWalt's good too but Makita's collet system is nicer.

I own both (collector here lol). The DeWalt feels heavier but more durable. The Makita is lighter and quieter. For precision, I'd go Makita. Bits stay true. DeWalt is better for heavy grinding.

Thanks guys. I'm leaning Makita now. One more thing: how's the vibration? I'm doing fine work so hand fatigue matters.

Vibration is low on the Makita, even at higher speeds. I can use it for hours. Get the plunge base attachment too, it's a game changer.
