Hey all, got a Dremel 7700 that won't charge. The light on the charger stays green but the tool doesn't start. Tried different outlets, no luck. Anyone seen this before?

Had a similar issue with my 7700. Check the battery contacts – the charging prongs on the tool can get bent or dirty. Try cleaning them with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol. Also make sure the battery is pushed all the way in.

If cleaning doesn't work, the battery might be toast. Those old NiCad packs die after a while. You can buy a replacement online or even swap in a Li-Ion if you're handy. I converted mine and it works great.

Also, sometimes the charger itself fails. I had a charger that showed green but wouldn't deliver current. Borrow a friend's charger to test if possible.

Yeah, I second the battery swap. I did a Li-Ion conversion on my 7700 and it's like a new tool. Plenty of guides on YouTube. But if you just want it fixed, Dremel sells replacement batteries for like $30.
