Just saw this article, and I gotta say, this poll doesn't surprise me. Saw the same thing happen when they tried to tax the wealthy in other states. Businesses pack up and leave, taking jobs with them. I'm all for fair taxes, but this is just gonna hurt the middle class in the long run. What do you guys think?

I mean, I get the concern, but I'm not sure it's as black and white as they make it out. A tax on billionaires isn't going to make a small business owner flee. They're not in that bracket. But yeah, if I were a billionaire, I'd be looking at moving my assets to Texas or something. It's a delicate balance between raising revenue and not driving away the job creators.

Honestly, I think it's about time the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share. They've been getting away with paying next to nothing for decades. But I also see the risk of them taking their ball and going home. It's a tricky one. But let's not forget, California's economy is huge - they might not leave that easily. I'd like to see the details on what this tax would actually fund.

Yeah, but 'fair share' is a slippery slope. The tax code is already progressive, and a wealth tax is unconstitutional in some ways. Plus, they always promise it'll fund education or infrastructure, but we all know how that goes. I'd rather they cut spending on wasteful programs and leave businesses alone. But that's just me.
