Just read this article about the billionaire tax in California. I'm worried about the impact on businesses and the economy. Could this affect prices on power tools? I need a new sander for my deck project.

I wouldn't worry too much about tool prices. That tax is aimed at the ultra-rich, not regular folks like us. But if businesses flee, maybe we'll see less competition? Eh, I doubt it'll change much for hobbyists.

I've seen these polls before. Voters are always scared of any tax, but it's unlikely to pass. And even if it does, the effect on the average consumer is minimal. I'd say keep your sander budget as is. Maybe look for a used one if you're concerned.

I'm all for taxing billionaires, but I gotta say, if it makes businesses leave, that could hurt local suppliers. But hey, I'm a brand loyalist - I'll still buy my tools online. Prices might go up, but quality stays. Just my two cents.
