Hey guys, stopped by the Depot today and saw the DeWalt 20V Max orbital sander (DCW210) on clearance for $89 with battery and charger! I've been looking for a cordless sander for small jobs. Is this thing worth it? I've heard mixed things about DeWalt sanders. Any experience?

I'd pass on that, Sam. DeWalt's sanders are decent but that model is underpowered. For a little more, you can get the Makita XPS01 with a 5Ah battery and it'll outlast the DeWalt. Plus, if you already have Makita batteries, it's a no-brainer.

I actually have that sander! Got it on a deal a couple years ago. It's fine for light work like sanding furniture or drywall patches. The dust collection is meh, and it vibrates quite a bit. But for $89 with battery? That ain't bad. I use it for quick touch-ups.

Over my 30 years, I've burned out more DeWalts than I care to count. But for a homeowner or hobbyist, it'll do the job. Just don't expect to run it all day. Batteries drain fast on sanders, so grab a spare if you can. If you're patient, wait for a deal on a Festool... I know, pricey, but worth it if you do a lot of sanding.
