Hey folks, just saw this on Craigslist - a barely used DeWalt DWP352VS belt sander for $80. Seller says it's only been used on one small project. Normally retails for like $200+. Should I jump on this or is there something fishy? Pics look legit but you never know...

Dave, that's a solid sander for sure - variable speed is clutch for different materials. At that price, I'd be suspicious though. Ask if you can test it before buying. Check the belt tracking, listen for any weird noises in the motor, and make sure the dust collection port isn't cracked. If it checks out, grab it!

I've got that exact model! Bought it new last year for my coffee table build. Honestly $80 is insane if it works. Only thing - the stock sanding belts wear out kinda fast, so budget for replacements. But for smoothing large surfaces? Game changer. Just be careful on corners, it can dig in if you're not paying attention lol

Thanks guys. Sparky - good call on testing it. Chris - appreciate the real-world feedback. Seller agreed to let me plug it in tomorrow. If the motor sounds clean and it doesn't vibrate like crazy, I'm probably gonna snag it. Will update!
