Saw this article about the billionaire tax in CA. Seems like folks are worried businesses will bail. What do you guys think? I'm in CA and frankly, I'm tired of all the new taxes. My supply shop already raised prices on lumber, and I bet if this passes, it'll just get passed down to us DIYers.

I'm not in Cali, but I've seen this happen before. High taxes push businesses out, then jobs leave, then the tax base shrinks. It's a vicious cycle. But hey, maybe the billionaires can afford it? Still, I'd rather keep them here paying taxes than move to Texas.

Honestly, I think the poll is just people bein scared. A wealth tax sounds good on paper but the implementation is a nightmare. And who defines 'billionaire'? My boss is a millionaire and he's already talking about moving the shop to Nevada. I just want to keep sanding without worrying about my job.

Good points. I just hope they don't go after small business owners like us. I run a small renovation crew and every tax hike hurts. The article mentions 'significant voter apprehension' – that's me. Maybe we should all write to our reps or something?

Ha, writing to reps? Good luck with that. They just ignore us until election season. Best we can do is vote with our wallets and maybe start stocking up on sandpaper before prices go up again. Stick to the tools, boys.
