Am I overdoing it with a full-face shield for miter saw cuts?

Hey y'all, I just got my first miter saw (Dewalt 12" double bevel, sweet deal). I have safety glasses and ear plugs, but I'm thinking about getting a full-face shield too. My better half says I'm being paranoid, but I've seen too many kickback vids. Am I overdoing it?

Carl, better safe than sorry mate. I've restored old furniture for years and had a chunk of wood fly up and hit my cheek. Full-face shield saved me from a nasty gash. I'd say go for it, just make sure it's anti-fog.

Not overdoing it at all. I inspect job sites and the number of guys with no face protection is scary. One rule: if it spins, protect your eyes and face. Also, get a dust collection setup, that fine dust is no joke for your lungs.

I have a collection of like 5 saws and I use full-face for miter and table saws. Glasses for circular saws though cause I'm on the move. You do you Carl, the wife will get over it when you come home with all your teeth.
