Alright folks, I'm in the market for a new cordless circular saw. I've been eyeing the DeWalt DCS570B and the Makita XSR01Z. I'm on a budget but want something that'll last. Any thoughts? I mostly do DIY projects around the house, not heavy daily use.

Hey Tim! I've used both. If you're doing light DIY, you honestly can't go wrong with either. But for the price, the Makita has a slightly better cutting capacity and feels more balanced. Also, the blade brake is a nice touch. DeWalt's a bit cheaper though, and you might find deals on bundles. Just make sure you get a decent battery.

Spent 30 years on job sites. You want reliability? Go Makita. I've seen DeWalts crap out under heavy use, but Makita just keeps going. That said, if you're not using it every day, DeWalt is fine and you'll save a few bucks. Just keep the blade sharp and don't push it too hard.

I'm all about precision. The Makita has a better base plate and more stable bevel adjustments. But the DeWalt's dust blower is actually better for visibility. If you're doing finish work, I'd go Makita. If you want to see your line, DeWalt. But honestly, check out the brushless models – worth the extra cash in the long run.

Thanks guys! Sounds like I should lean Makita, but I might catch a sale on DeWalt. I'll look into brushless too. Appreciate the input!
