Found a Ridgid 10" jobsite saw for $200 – too good to be true?

So I was browsing Craigslist like usual on a Tuesday night, and someone listed a Ridgid R45131 10" jobsite saw with a folding stand and a new Diablo blade for $200. It's been used a few times but looks clean in the pics. I've been looking for a portable saw for trim work and small projects, and this seems like a steal. Anyone have experience with this model? Is it worth jumping on, or should I hold out for something else? Also, any red flags to look for when I go check it out?

Dude, that's a sweet deal! I have that saw and it's been solid for the last couple years. It's not a cabinet saw by any means, but for trim and sheet goods it's plenty accurate. The stock fence is actually decent, but I upgraded to a Delta T2 and that helped a lot. At $200, I'd grab it fast – those usually go for $400+ new. Just check that the arbor spins smoothly, no wobble, and the blade doesn't spin when it's off. Also make sure the riving knife and blade guard aren't missing, because replacing those OEM parts is a hassle.

Totally agree, that's a no-brainer if it's functional. But also check the motor's power cord for any cuts or damage, and plug it in if possible to see it run. Also, bring a square to check the miter slots are parallel to the blade. And ask when the last time the belts were changed – if it's a belt drive, but I think that one is direct drive? Either way, if it cuts straight and doesn't make weird noises, you're golden. Nice find!

Thanks guys! I'm heading over tomorrow after work. I'll bring a square and a test piece of wood. Hopefully it's not a stolen one or something lol. I'll let you know how it goes. Appreciate the tips – didn't think about the riving knife, but I'll check that.

Good luck Rick! If it checks out, you'll be set. And if you ever need to do dados, just remember it can't take a stacked dado set – only a wobble dado or a router. But for most stuff you'll be fine. Let us know when you get it!
