Hey everyone, was at the hardware store today and spotted a DeWalt DWE575SB circular saw marked down to $89. Normally goes for like $150+! It's the last one in stock, looks brand new in the box. Should I grab it? I'm just a weekend warrior but been wanting to upgrade my old corded saw for some deck projects this summer.

DUDE JUMP ON THAT!!! DeWalt's corded tools are built like tanks - I've had my 575 for 5 years and it's survived multiple roof jobs and framing projects. The electric brake alone is worth it for safety. At that price it's basically stealing. My only question is why it's so cheap - maybe a return? Check the serial number sticker isn't tampered with.

Professionally speaking: solid deal for a homeowner. The 575SB is DeWalt's mid-tier 7-1/4" saw - decent power (15A), decent weight. Not what I'd use daily on a jobsite (I run the FlexVolt cordless system), but for deck boards and occasional cuts? More than enough. Test it immediately if you buy - make sure the blade guard retracts smoothly and the base plate isn't bent. Sawdust in the box could mean it was used and returned.

Nice find! That model's from their 2018 refresh - good saw. I have one in my collection (serial # in the 1800s). Two things: 1) The depth adjustment lever tends to get stiff over time, hit it with some silicone spray. 2) If it's truly new, the blade will have that blue protective coating. No coating = demo model. Either way at $89 you're winning. I'd buy it just for the parts!

Update: Went back first thing this morning and bought it! Serial number looks clean, blade had the blue coating Rick mentioned. Already made some test cuts on scrap 2x4s - smooth as butter. Thanks for the advice everyone! Now to convince the wife I 'saved' money...
