Just found a killer deal on a miter saw - too good to be true?

Hey everyone, was browsing online and stumbled on a 12-inch sliding compound miter saw from a decent brand for $199. Usually see these around $350+. It's refurbished but comes with a 1-year warranty. My current saw is getting sloppy with cuts - anyone have experience with refurb tools? Is this worth jumping on or should I hold out for new?

$199 for a sliding compound? That's insane! I paid almost double for mine last year. Refurbs can be hit or miss, but with a warranty, I'd say go for it. Just check the return policy in case it shows up messed up. Budget finds like this don't come around often.

Totally agree with Tim. I got a refurb drill press last year and it's been flawless. As long as it's from a reputable seller, you're golden. Save that extra cash for blades or a stand. Which brand is it? Some have better refurb programs than others.

It's a Metabo HPT. Seller has good reviews. My main worry is precision - if the fence or slide is even slightly off, it'll ruin my trim work. Maybe I'll pull the trigger and just test it thoroughly when it arrives. Thanks for the input!

Metabo HPT is solid. Their refurbs are usually just returns with minimal use. At that price, even if you need to tweak the alignment a bit, you're still way ahead. Let us know how it works out!
