Just a friendly reminder to always wear safety glasses when using a circular saw. I was cutting some plywood today and a knot flew out, nearly hit my eye. Lucky I had my glasses on! Stay safe out there folks.

Good point Steve, but make sure they're ANSI Z87.1 rated. I've seen cheap glasses that fog up and distort vision, which can be just as dangerous. I prefer ones with anti-fog coating and a snug fit.

Also, don't forget ear protection too! Circular saws are loud, and hearing damage is permanent. I double up with earplugs and muffs when I'm doing a lot of cutting. And if you're using a saw that throws a lot of dust, a dust mask is a must.

Absolutely, Larry. I also recommend a face shield over glasses for extra protection when doing plunge cuts or if there's a chance of kickback. But at minimum, glasses. Can't stress it enough.

And one more thing: make sure your blades are sharp. A dull blade is more likely to bind and cause kickback, which is when accidents happen. Keep your tools maintained and your PPE on. No shortcuts.
