So I found a used SawStop Jobsite Saw on Craigslist for $300. Says it works fine, just needs a new brake cartridge. I know these normally go for $1,200+. Is this too good to be true? What should I look for when I go check it out?

Whoa, $300 for a SawStop is a steal! But definitely check the blade alignment and runout. Also, inspect the brake cartridge – if it's been triggered, the saw stops working until replaced. That's a $100+ part. Make sure the motor runs smooth and the riving knife isn't bent. If it checks out, you're golden.

Honestly, if I had the chance, I'd jump on it. I've been wanting a SawStop for the safety feature alone. My neighbor has one and loves it. Just make sure to test the flesh-sensing brake with a hot dog? LOL. Actually, that's a real thing they test with. But maybe don't ruin the cartridge if you buy it.

Hold on, $300 is suspicious. I'd check if it's stolen. Ask for the serial number and call SawStop to verify. Also, when you test it, use a multimeter to check the wiring – I've seen people mess with the safety feature. But if it's legit, that's the best deal I've heard of. Safety first, but sweet find!
